Orthodontics in Broome
You don’t need to decide before you arrive.
Align your smile. Transform your future.
Orthodontics isn’t just about straight teeth. It’s about proactive
health, functional alignment, and creating a confident smile that lasts a
lifetime.
At DNTL Code, we take a personalised, outcomes-based approach — aligning
treatment with your goals, growth phase, and lifestyle. Whether you’re a teen
seeking a straighter smile, a parent wanting the best for your child, or an
adult who wishes they’d done it sooner — we’re here to guide you every step of
the way.
For Children
We believe in treatment at the right time - not just when the problem is obvious.
Our growth-guided orthodontic programs allow us to:
- Intervene early to prevent more complex treatment later
- Work with your child’s natural growth cycles to create space and alignment
- Support jaw development, breathing, and facial harmony
Signs your child may benefit from early orthodontic treatment:
- Snoring or mouth breathing at night
- Teeth grinding (especially during sleep)
- No gaps between baby teeth (this often means there won’t be enough room for adult teeth)
- Crowding or crooked adult teeth
- Canines coming in high or outside the normal line of teeth
- Front teeth tipping too far forward or backward
- Upper and lower teeth not lining up when biting
- The bottom jaw sitting too far forward or too far back compared to the top jaw underbite or overbite)
- A tilted smile (known as a “cant”) or bite that looks off-centre
Correcting these early can:
- Support healthier jaw and facial development
- Prevent accelerated wear or chipping of teeth
- Reduce the risk of decay and gum disease by making teeth easier to clean
- Improve sleep, breathing, and speech
- Minimise the need for more invasive treatment later

For Teens
This is the age where confidence starts to bloom - and a great smile can be the launchpad.
We offer discreet and modern solutions tailored for teens, helping to:
- Correct misalignment before it becomes a long-term issue
- Improve oral hygiene by making teeth easier to clean
- Reduce the risk of future wear, damage, or jaw problems
- Build the kind of self-assurance that lights up every room
Orthodontics at DNTL Code isn’t about fitting into a mold — it’s about
helping teens feel more like themselves.

For Adults
Whether your teeth have shifted since your teenage braces, or you never got the chance to start - we’re seeing more adults than ever take control of their smile.
- Invisible and low-impact options available
Address bite issues that are causing wear, discomfort, or gum problems - Improve the aesthetics of your smile while prioritising long-term function
- Build the confidence to show up fully in life, business, and beyond
This isn’t about vanity - it’s about making your health, confidence, and future a priority.
You’re not too old. It’s not too late. And the results speak for themselves.

With more than 30 years in dentistry and over 20 years as a Specialist Orthodontist, Dr Gavin brings an incredible depth of experience to our team and to every smile he treats.
After graduating from the University of Wales College of Medicine in 1992, Dr Gavin began his career in general practice and hospital-based oral and maxillofacial surgery. He then spent 18 months as a flying dentist, delivering care to remote communities in northern Canada. This experience shaped his calm, adaptable and solutions-focused approach.
He returned to the UK to continue working in surgical and hospital settings, including Oral and Maxillofacial and ENT departments, before taking on a senior role with the South Tees Community Dental Service. There, he provided care to patients with dental anxiety, medical complexities and special needs.
During this time, Dr Gavin was awarded his Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and recognised as a specialist in surgical dentistry (now known as oral surgery). He then went on to complete a Master’s degree in Orthodontics at Newcastle University, followed by Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, formally qualifying as a Specialist Orthodontist.
Since then, Dr Gavin has practised in the UK, New Zealand and most recently Bermuda, where he spent several years in private orthodontic practice. He has also taught both undergraduate and postgraduate students and has a keen interest in mentoring early-career clinicians.
Dr Gavin is known for his thoughtful, thorough approach to orthodontics and his ability to support patients through complex or multi-phase treatment plans. He works with children, teens and adults to help them achieve long-term, healthy results and the kind of confidence that comes with loving your smile.
When he’s not in clinic, he’s usually outdoors with his wife Susan, or keeping up with his two grown-up kids – Aislin, a chemical engineer, and Myles, a physiotherapy student.

Braces?Invisalign®?Not sure?
You don’t need to decide before you arrive.
What is an Orthodontist?
An orthodontist is a dental specialist who focuses on diagnosing, preventing, and correcting misaligned teeth and jaws. After completing general dental training, orthodontists undergo several additional years of university study to specialise in how teeth and facial structures grow and move.
They’re the experts behind treatments like braces, clear aligners (such as Invisalign), early intervention for kids, and jaw development solutions — all designed to improve not just the look of your smile, but how your teeth function for life.
Is there a permanent orthodontist in Broome?
Yes.
DNTL Code is home to Dr Gavin Brown, Specialist Orthodontist, who lives and works here in Broome.
Having a permanent orthodontist locally means consultations, treatment planning and ongoing orthodontic appointments can happen here, across different days of the week, rather than your care being structured around an occasional visiting clinic.
Do you offer braces and Invisalign® in Broome?
Yes.
We provide specialist orthodontic treatment for children, teenagers and adults, including braces and Invisalign® where clinically appropriate.
Which option is better depends on your teeth, bite, treatment goals and individual circumstances.
You don’t need to work that out before you arrive. That’s what the consultation is for.
Is Invisalign® better than braces?
Not necessarily.
They’re different tools, and each has advantages depending on what needs to be corrected.
Rather than choosing based on which one looks better online, Dr Gavin can assess your teeth and bite and explain which options are suitable for you.
Am I too old for braces or Invisalign®?
Probably not.
Orthodontic treatment isn’t only for teenagers. Adults may choose orthodontic treatment to straighten teeth, improve their bite or address concerns they’ve had for years.
The first step is simply finding out what’s possible.
