OUR STORY
Part of Broome
since 1985.
We’ve been part of this community since 1985. The clinic has changed quite a bit since then, but the commitment to looking after Broome and the people who call it home hasn’t.
What began as Broome Dental Clinic has grown into DNTL Code, with more clinicians, more technology and more of the care our community needs available right here in Broome.
Same community. Bigger vision.
Healthcare worth
staying local for.
Living regionally shouldn’t automatically mean getting on a plane whenever healthcare becomes more complex.
That’s why we continue to grow our people, technology, training and facilities, expanding the care that can be provided right here in Broome.
From everyday preventative care to orthodontics, implant dentistry, skin and more complex treatment, the goal is simple:
Better care. Closer to home.

HOW WE GOT HERE
Looking after Broome since 1985.
1985Broome Dental Clinic opens. The beginning of a long relationship with Broome families, many of whom we’re still lucky enough to look after today.
2019A new chapter begins.Dr Stephanie Mulcahy takes over Broome Dental Clinic with a vision to grow what regional healthcare could look like in Broome. The clinic grows from one dentist to two and begins introducing new technology, systems and services.
2021Prevention gets its own department. We open a dedicated preventative dental department, shifting our focus beyond fixing problems to helping prevent them in the first place.
2023DNTL Code comes to life.Broome Dental Clinic becomes DNTL Code. A new name, a growing team and a broader vision for healthcare in Broome, bringing dental and skin care together under one roof while keeping each as its own distinct area of care.
2024The team keeps growing.More clinicians. More capability. More opportunities to learn from one another. DNTL Code grows to a team of 18 and is recognised as WA Rural Business of the Year, while Dr Steph is named among Business News WA’s 40under40.
2025More complex care comes closer to home. Our services expand again with resident specialist orthodontic care and implant dentistry available locally. At the same time, construction begins on something we’d been dreaming about for quite a while…
2026We find our new home.DNTL Code moves into the purpose-built Broome Health & Wellness Centre on Frederick Street. More treatment rooms. Dedicated spaces for orthodontics, implant dentistry and skin. Technology we once could only dream about having locally. And room to keep bringing more healthcare to Broome.
And we’re not finished yet.
WHAT GUIDES US.
The values behind
everything we do.
The clinic has grown. The team has grown. What matters to us has become clearer along the way.
Confidence.
Healthcare makes more sense when you understand it.
We explain what we find, what your options are and what happens next, so you can make informed decisions about your care.
Innovation.
We keep learning and asking whether there’s a better way.
New technology only earns its place here if it helps us diagnose more accurately, treat more effectively or provide care locally that might otherwise require a trip south.
Proactivity.
We’d rather identify something early than wait for it to become a bigger problem.
That applies to the way we approach healthcare, our team and the way we run the clinic.
Sustainability.
We think beyond the next appointment.
That means considering long-term health, choosing treatments thoughtfully, building a team that can continue serving Broome and making decisions with the future in mind.
OUR PEOPLE
Good care starts
with good people.
We’re dentists, a specialist orthodontist, oral health therapists, dental assistants, patient advocates, skin therapists and the friendly voices who answer the phone.
Different roles. Different areas of expertise. One team that believes healthcare should be explained properly, delivered thoughtfully and feel a little more human.
We take what we do seriously.
Ourselves? Slightly less so.

MEET YOUR CLINICIANS
The people looking after you.
Whether you’re coming in for a routine check-up, orthodontics, something more complex or simply because something hurts, there’s a real person behind your care. And we think it’s nice to know a little about them before you meet.
Dr Stephanie MulcahyDentist & FounderSteph took over Broome Dental Clinic in 2019 with a pretty simple question: why should living regionally mean having access to less?Meet Dr Steph
Dr Victoria LiuDentistDr Victoria provides general dental care and medical aesthetic consultations, with a thoughtful, considered approach to both.Meet Dr Victoria
Dr Gavin BrownSpecialist OrthodontistWith more than 20 years of orthodontic experience, Dr Gavin provides specialist orthodontic care for children, teenagers and adults right here in Broome.Meet Dr Gavin
Mei ZiuOral Health TherapistMei works across preventative dental care, helping patients protect healthy teeth, identify concerns early and understand what they can do between appointments.Meet Mei
And the people behind them.
Great healthcare takes more than the person holding the dental mirror.
Our dental assistants keep treatment running smoothly. Our front office team somehow know who you are before you’ve finished saying your name. Our patient advocates help make more complex treatment easier to navigate. And behind the scenes, there’s a whole team making sure the details are taken care of.
They may not all appear on your treatment plan, but they’re a pretty important part of your care.
Meet the whole team

A NOTE FROM OUR FOUNDER
Why Broome?
I grew up in regional Australia, so I’ve always understood that where you choose to live can affect the healthcare you can access.
When I took over Broome Dental Clinic in 2019, I didn’t want our location to determine the standard of care we could provide.
Since then, we’ve kept asking the same question: What more could we bring to Broome?
That has meant growing our team, bringing new clinicians and services to town, introducing technology and equipment that would usually be found in larger centres, and creating a purpose-built home with room to do even more.
For me, the growth of DNTL Code has never been about simply building a bigger clinic. It’s about what that growth allows us to give back to our community: more choice, more capability and more of the care people need, closer to home.
There is still plenty we want to do.
And that’s probably my favourite part.
Dr Steph

- WA Rural Business of the YearRecognition of the team and business we’ve built here in regional WA.
- Business News WA 40under40Dr Steph recognised among WA’s 40under40 in 2024.
- Broome Business AwardsProud to have been recognised by our local business community across multiple years.

But what matters most is what all that growth has allowed us to bring back to Broome.
More technology. More capability.
More care available closer to home.
The next chapter?
We’re already working on it.
DNTL Code will keep evolving as our community does, bringing together good people, useful technology and thoughtful healthcare so more of the care Broome needs can happen closer to home.
Better care. Closer to home.
